I pretty much have no idea where this month went. I’ve come up with recipes for all kinds of things, from chowder to chocolate mousse – all the while, my kitchen has been well over 100 degrees. Yikes! Gotta love a freak heatwave! Here are some of the fabulous shiny internet gems I came across this month, including recipe, DIY bug repellant and tips on better sleep. I really, really need to take some of those suggestions seriously, I have a tendency to lie in bed thinking up recipes! So, in no particular order, here are my favorite things from June!

Top 10 Grain Free Bread Recipes

Truth be told, I’m not really a “Paleo” baker. There are a few reasons for this, the biggest being that when I initially started adopting Paleo ideas into my diet, I didn’t want to replace the junk I was eating back then with pretty labor intensive “copycat” recipes. I wanted to strip everything down to be as simple as possible. I still lean on that philosophy for myself, but I’m coming around to relaxing a little bit. Think special occasions or just the odd treat. Mr Meatified is a big fan of this plan, haha! So this list of the top 10 Grain-free Bread Recipes is going to come in handy for a little baking inspiration. And let’s face it, who doesn’t find the idea of butternut flatbread intriguing?!

If this doesn’t scream 4th of July, I don’t know what would! This is a beautiful looking Coconut Fruit Tart with a coconut filling that is set with healing grass fed gelatin. Mix up the fruit however you want! I would personally omit the stevia, but to each their own!

I am completely intrigued by this one: non-toxic bug repellent! I really have to try this out, because I hate the idea of having to rely on chemical laden sprays like I often have to in the summer. Plus, they’re cute, too – it may be a lot easier to convince kids to de-bug this way!

And, aptly last: 9 steps to better sleep. This is one of those crucial steps to health that SO MANY PEOPLE skip over. Sleep is when we repair and grow and all that good stuff. But it’s one of the first things that people push to the side. It’s especially crucial for those of you who exercise heavily: make time to rest!
