Well, technically it’s tomorrow. Apparently I’ve been missing out on this day for years!
“International Bacon Day or Bacon Day is an unofficial observance, often celebrated on the Saturday before US Labor Day (the first Monday of September)… Bacon day celebrations typically include social gatherings during which participants create and consume dishes containing bacon, including bacon-themed breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, and drinks.”
So to help you all along your International Bacon Day way, here are some of my favorite recipes using bacon!
Stuffed Bacon Guacamole Burger
This one is a double pork fiesta: the pork sausage burger is stuffed with my Bacon & Green Onion Guacamole!
Bacon & Green Onion Guacamole
You can’t make the burger without this! The other fantastic thing about this guacamole recipe is that it’s nightshade free! Which, you know, obviously cancels out it’s addictive nature, right?
Bacon & Berry Bites with Chocolate Dipping Sauce
If you like bacon wrapped dates, you will LOVE these! Salty bacon, sweet strawberries and a little extra something from the dairy free chocolate dippin sauce. Divine!
Cantaloupe Bacon Salad
For those of you who like your bacon as a condiment, try crumbling it over some fresh melon. It’s like a lazy version of prosciutto wrapped melon!
And last, but not least, one of the most popular recipes on this site: No Bread Bacon & Egg Sandwich!
As I once described this portable Paleo feast: the love child of a frittata and a hangover. True story!
So those are some of my favorite ways to eat bacon! What are yours?
